Technoform is rapidly becoming one of North America’s leading manufacturers of quality and affordable sanitary products designed for the retail and wholesale markets. Its success is owed to its loyal customers, product selection and work force, which is comprised of qualified and experienced individuals.
Founded in 1988 under the name Plumbing Plus Inc., the company was then acting as a distributor of bathroom products, such as vanities and sinks, designed for the renovation/retail market. The company evolved in 2002 when it changed its name to Technoform Industries Ltd. It was also at this time that its association with a major American manufacturer began, making Technoform the sole Canadian distributor of a wide selection of tub-surrounds, showers, cabinets and laundry tubs.
The company continued its growth in 2006 when it developed the Enviro-bath® trademark and started the production of a brand new line of acrylic bathtubs. Technoform thus became a manufacturer. Its revolutionary manufacturing process is what distinguishes Technoform from other Canadian manufacturers. The conventional way of reinforcing acrylic bathtubs and shower bases entails the use of fibreglass and styrene resin. The latter is an extremely potent and harmful product for the environment, as well as for the health of the workers and nearby residents of the factories. Technoform is proud of the way it reinforces its products: by using innovative VOC-free*, eco-friendly products, in their manufacturing process, hence their Enviro-bath® trademark. To date, Technoform is the only Canadian manufacturer to take advantage of this environmentally-friendly technology. Its green fabrication process, as well as its business acumen, has won Technoform the honorific prize of Excellence in Manufacturing; a prize which was awarded to Technoform at the Entrepreneurial Grand Prizes of Roussillon in October 2007.
In 2008, the company significantly increased its product line to include the manufacturing of acrylic shower bases and shower and bathtub walls; polypropylene shower bases and laundry tubs; as well as polystyrene shower and tub-surrounds. Consequently, the company expanded its plant in 2010 by more than doubling its size. In 2011, one of Technoform’s main competitors, Aciflex, ceased their activities and Technoform took over some of their assets. The Aciflex name was also acquired in order to become a Technoform trademark.
The growth of Technoform is expected to continue in 2012 with the development of new quality designed products and with the addition of its latest trademark: Aciflex™.
