Pierre Guilbault, who has more than 30 years of plumbing experience, founds the Plumbing Plus Distributor company. It specializes in distributing various plumbing products for bathrooms, across Canada.
The company redefines its image by creating the Technoform Industries Ltd. brand.
Technoform also becomes the exclusive distributor of American Shower & Bath products in Canada.
In addition to its distribution activities, Technoform begins to manufacture bathtubs, walls and surrounds and making significant investments in the acquisition of production equipment.
That same year, it launches the Enviro-Bath® process and seal. A technological innovation that is a first in the industry, it makes it possible to manufacture bathtubs in a less-polluting way and eliminates the emission of toxic volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
The company wins an award of excellence in the manufacturer category during the Grand Prix de l’Entrepreneuriat gala, presented by the Roussillon local development centre (CLD). As a new player in the manufacturing sector, this award cements Technoform’s credibility in the industry.
MANUFACTURE PHASE 1
The company expands and moves to new, more spacious premises that offer 12,000 square feet of space for its growing operations. Technoform ceases its distribution activities and focuses on its new vocation: manufacturing.
The company diversifies its offer and begins selling showers and utility sinks under the Technoform brand.
MANUFACTURE PHASE 2
Technoform continues to grow and begins the second phase of its plant’s expansion, adding 20,000 square feet of surface area.
Technoform acquires Aciflex, gaining a new trademark along with its assets, resources and infrastructures.
MANUFACTURE PHASE 3
Technoform completes the third phase of its plant’s expansion, now totalling 44,000 square feet.
MANUFACTURE PHASE 4
Technoform continues its rapid growth and completes the fourth phase of its plant’s expansion and modernization. The company now enjoys no less than 60,000 square feet of space, as well as state-of-the-art robotic equipment.
Richard Davidson, a seasoned businessman with more than 35 years of retail experience in the renovation sector, acquires and heads Technoform.
The company updates its brand image and redefines its product lines with new logos and communication tools for Technoform, Techno Design®, Aciflex® and RuggedTub®, as well as unveiling SurfaceDesign™, its brand-new collection of premium decorative tiles and panels.
